How does the local currency display work for Argentina, Mexico or Brazil?

Workana's local currency display makes it easy for users from different countries to use the platform. However, we know that it can be difficult to understand its full operation. Don't worry about it! Let's take look at each case in detail, shall we? 😉

REMEMBER!! In the platform you can view any currency you wish, but remember that all transactions will be anchored in your local currency, regardless of the currency you have chosen to view.🙂

I am a client from Argentina, Mexico or Brazil and I hire professionals from my own country. How does it work?

If you hire a professional from the same country, you will agree on a value in the local currency of both parties. This value is 100% anchored to your currency, so there will be no variation throughout the project.

For example, if you are a client from Mexico, and you hire a Professional from Mexico, you will choose a value (either fixed or by the hour) in Mexican Pesos. This value will be permanent throughout the Project, both in the amount to be paid by the Client and in the amount to be withdrawn (later on when the funds are released) by the Professional.

I am a client from Argentina, Mexico or Brazil and I hire professionals from ANOTHER country. How does it work?

If you decide to hire a professional from another country, you won't have to worry. Workana will continue to take your currency as the regent in the project, leaving all values anchored to this currency with no risk of changing it throughout the project.

If you are hired by a Client outside your country, Workana will take the Client's currency as the currency of reference and it will convert it into your local currency according to the official exchange rate of each country (always anchoring its values in US Dollars). Thus, if you are being hired by a client in Colombia, the value of your proposal will be converted to USD at the time of acceptance, and it may vary throughout the project according to the exchange rate of your region.

For example, if you are an Argentine professional and are hired by a client from Spain, Workana will freeze the value of your proposal to USD when it is accepted by the client. That value will remain in USD until the moment the client decides to release the money, at which time the released money is frozen back into your local currency taking the exchange rate of the day of the release.

If you are hired by a Client from Argentina, Mexico or Brazil and you are not a professional from the same country, Workana will take the Client's currency as the reference currency and convert it into your currency according to the official exchange rate of each country (always anchoring its values in the Client's Reference Currency).

In this way, if you are being contracted by a Client in Brazil, the value of your proposal will be converted to Real at the time of acceptance, and it may vary throughout the project according to the exchange rate of your region. Once the money is released by the client, the released amount is frozen back into your currency, taking the exchange value of the day of the release of the funds.

As a user of one of these countries, can I change my currency view?

Remember that all your transactions are anchored in your local currency if you are from Argentina, Mexico or Brazil, and in US dollars if you are from another country. That is why it is advisable to keep Workana’s view in its local currency.

However, you can change your currency to the view of your choice as many times as you like, but this does not mean that your transactions will be anchored to the currency in which you view the platform.

For example, if you are a user in Mexico, all your transactions will be anchored in Mexican pesos, even if you view the platform in USD.
